After severe storms roared through Pierce Township in southwest Ohio last week, the community rallied together for the cleanup process — neighbor helping neighbor. Among those helping out in the 10-mile cleanup zone is a group of 30 members from Civil Air Patrol, most of them cadets, some as young as 12. “We’re doing door to door well-being checks, making sure folks are doing alright. Making sure they have things they need, or doing damage assessment. Providing that support to municipal authorities and emergency management agency,” said Capt. Johnny Shea, who said CAP will continue this week until the job is done.
